1) RECOVERY OF BIOGAS AND POWER
The high cost of power, which is the major utility for operating ETPs has led to implementation and extensive use of anaerobic systems. Industries like distilleries and dairies are implementing anaerobic systems as a rule and utilizing gas as alternative fuel in boiler or generating power by deploying engines. Apart from the economic advantage, this use of biogas is also an environmentally friendly fuel.

2) REUSE & RECYCLING OF WATER
The high rate of population growth and urbanization are two major factors which compel the optimum use of scarce fresh water resources.
There is a strong felt need by many industries to augment their water supply systems to cope with the total demand of water and in this context need for the reuse of treated wastewater arises. By providing marginal extra cost a major portion of the wastewater could be reclaimed and reused by the industry itself.
